1. Woodward Dream Cruise weekend

Now in its 27th year, the Woodward Dream Cruise will once again thrill spectators along a 16-mile route from Ferndale to Pontiac Aug. 20. While the main attraction will happen on the famous avenue Saturday, gearheads can find a classic car parade, car shows and more starting Friday. 2. GreekFest
Aug. 18-21 • Assumption Cultural Center, St. Clair Shores
GreekFest promises four days of culture, authentic Greek food, live entertainment, dancing and more at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church/Cultural Center, 21800 Marter Road in St. Clair Shores on the Grosse Pointe Woods border. Hours for the popular summer event are 4-10 p.m. Aug. 18, 4-11 p.m. Aug. 19, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Aug. 20 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 21.

3. AQL India Day 2022
Aug. 20 • Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi
The India League of America, in collaboration with Michigan Asian Indian Community Organizations, will present AQL India Day 2022 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi. The free celebration will feature food, dance, music, traditions, jewelry and apparel, a Freedom Parade, exhibits, Bollywood celebrities, the Hindu tradition of the lighting of the lamp and more.

4. Armada Fair
Aug 15-21 • Armada Fairgrounds
Catch the weekend portion of the weeklong Armada Fair with carnival rides, the Budweiser Clydesdales, the Chainsaw Men of Michigan, the Comedy Farm Magic Review, animal oasis and animal adventure shows, the youth livestock sale, glass blowing, Irish dancers, historical reenactments, a display featuring artifacts, memorabilia and costumes from the event's 150-year history and more. The marquee attractions are the rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday, and tractor and truck pulls at noon and 6 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and older, $5 for 10-12 and free for 9 and younger; daily parking is $5 cash only. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the grounds — located at 74280 Fair St. — close at midnight. 5. Cheddar's Summer Splash
Aug. 20 • Troy Historic Village
Children ages 2-8 can join Cheddar the Village Mouse for beach games, crafts and treats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 20 at Troy Historic Village, 60 W. Wattles Road. Families are also encouraged to bring a donation for the Michigan Animal Rescue League in exchange for a small prize. Bonus: Summer Festival
Aug. 19-21 • St. Rafka, Livonia
St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church, 32765 Lyndon St. in Livonia, will host its Summer Festival from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 4 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy live entertainment, bingo, an escape room, games, inflatables, face painting, food and a premium bar, a raffle, a gift shop, and more. Admission and parking are free.
