SOUTHFIELD — The city of Southfield held its annual Memorial Day commemoration ceremony on May 22, where officials emphasized the importance of remembrance and honor.

TROY — The city of Troy celebrated the grand opening of its full-size cricket field at Boulan Park May 14, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community cricket clinic. 

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The community is invited to celebrate Memorial Day weekend at the Shelby Township Down Home Days Festival May 21-25.

ROSEVILLE/EASTPOINTE — Community members are invited to remember the fallen on Memorial Day. 

WALLED LAKE — A local theater company will be honoring veterans this Memorial Day weekend with a theatrical presentation that highlights some of the challenges faced by veterans after they return from the service, and the suffering that some endure in terms of physical and mental health.

NOVI — The sound and smell of summer will soon embrace the city of Novi as multiple tribute bands and barbecue food trucks are set to converge upon Twelve Mile Crossing at Fountain Walk this Memorial Day weekend for the third annual BBQ Fest.

LATHRUP VILLAGE — Organized by Life of God Outreach Sons Ministry, or Logos Church, in partnership with the Lathrup Village Downtown Development Authority, residents of Lathrup Village came together May 16 for a day of community giving.
