SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Shelby Township is celebrating the 11th anniversary of its annual Giving Tree program, an initiative to spread holiday joy to those in need.

UTICA — Utica community members came together for the Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration on Dec. 13.

ROSEVILLE — St. Nicholas rode right down Santa Claus Lane during the Roseville Neighborhood Watch Group’s sixth annual Holiday Lights on Wheels Parade Dec. 6.

METRO DETROIT — The holidays are a time to eat, drink and be merry. 

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The holiday season has arrived, and Harrison Township is lit up with the help of “Chewy Claus” and one special duck.

FERNDALE — The Ringwald Theatre has kicked off another series of shows, this time honoring a film beloved by the LGBTQ+ community.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Macomb Ballet Company in Shelby Township welcomes families to celebrate the magic of the season as “The Nutcracker” returns Dec. 19-21.

TROY — Troy Historic Village, 60 W. Wattles Road in Troy, will offer an educational “Victorian Christmas” experience, 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 12, as well both 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again at 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

ROYAL OAK — Chanukah begins on the evening of Dec. 14 and goes until Dec. 22. To help families celebrate the occasion, the Royal Oak Chabad Jewish Center is hosting its annual Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Village Walk on Dec. 18.

TROY — This holiday season, the Ridgedale Players are performing a radio play version of “It’s A Wonderful Life,” with more show dates set for Dec. 12-14 and Dec. 19-21. 

ROYAL OAK — St. Paul Lutheran Church and school is the longest-serving church in Oakland County, and it just celebrated more than 150 years and some renovations with a ribbon cutting on Dec. 2.

GROSSE POINTE SHORES — Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores is welcoming visitors Home for the Holidays this month with the sights, sounds and flavors of the season.

CLAWSON — The city of Clawson kicked off the holiday season with its annual lighting of the tree at Memorial Park on Dec. 3. 

ROYAL OAK — The Royal Oak Tree Lighting saw its biggest crowd yet for the kick off of the holiday season in Centennial Commons, 204 S. Troy St. 

ROYAL OAK — Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams, hosted by Corewell Health Children’s in Royal Oak, helps light up the lives of the youngest patients in the hospital during the holidays.

FRASER — The Fraser First Booster Club is hosting its Blue Jean Ball in February with raffles, dinner and more. 

BIRMINGHAM — For the last 45 years, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center has brought together artists throughout the community for its annual Holiday Shop. During the holiday season, 3,000-square-feet of gallery space at the BBAC is turned into a boutique full of handmade gifts made by local artists.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The work of various artists from a Shelby Township Activity Center senior watercolor class is highlighted at the center through Dec. 22.

UTICA — The Utica Fire Department will once again be holding its Toys for Tots Stuff an Ambulance event at Utica Memorial Park during the Downtown Utica Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration on Dec. 13.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Carlo’s Pizza in Harrison Township was recognized on Nov. 25 as a supporter of the Pride of Michigan and the Great Lakes Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
