ST. CLAIR COUNTY — As we enter the heart of the summer season, boaters continue to parade around Lake St. Clair and enjoy the dining experiences it has to offer.

While Harrison Township and St. Clair Shores attract a healthy amount of the waterside dining patrons, Algonac offers considerable lakefront options.

For a family atmosphere and dinner with a view, Algonac can offer all that and more.

For those looking for an escape from Michigan, Island Grill provides a tropical setting while offering a family-oriented atmosphere.

“It’s like you’re in Key West,” manager Suzan Magness said.

Featuring main floor seating inside and outside, Island Grill offers sizable seating in the upstairs deck area along with its tiki bar. Children will enjoy the sandbox area located next to the outside seating on the main floor.

Food options include the bestselling perch Reuben, red snapper, mahi fish tacos and the chicken quesadillas.

Start the weekend right with live music on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and end it on a high note with music from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

For boaters, Island Grill can accommodate up to 50 boats for docking purposes, along with 20 jet ski docks. Dock hands and a gas dock are available.

Island Grill plans to stay open a few days after Labor Day, weather permitting.

Hours of operation: Closed Monday and Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

A relaxed atmosphere for all ages, The Raft is a restaurant where everybody is treated like family.

The Raft offers indoor seating along with a bar where it offers draft and premium beers, and there’s an outdoor patio where you can order any of its American-style foods.

Restaurant favorites include The Raft burger, chicken tenders, Raft special nachos and hot dogs.

Boaters have 13 wells at their disposal.

For great food and a family-friendly environment, The Raft is a must-try.

Cabana Blue (open year-round)

A newer restaurant on the block, Cabana Blue broke ground early with its food options and atmosphere being a huge hit.

The Cabana slider, Joe SmashBurger and fish tacos have made it a viable year-round dining option. Bestselling drink choices include frozen rum runners, frozen strawberry margaritas and the Cabana banana.

Cabana Blue offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a full waterside view and chairs overlooking the water. The 11 glass garage doors are closed in the colder months but allow patrons to still enjoy the view.

“The community seems to be there for the views and the sunset,” owner Jon Henninger said.

For entertainment, Cabana Blue has multiple televisions for sporting events and surround sound speakers for optimal music entertainment. Live music happens a few times a month. Customers can also enjoy a free-of-charge game of cornhole.

Parking options both by land and sea are plentiful with over 1,600 feet of seawall for boaters and 175 parking spots for vehicles.

Henninger plans to add a hot dog and hamburger stand in the coming weeks.

A unique lakeside restaurant, Club Capri is an Italian restaurant that offers all the favorites.

With a beautiful dining room and bar area inside, customers can enjoy Club Capri’s famous pizza and homemade pastas. Drink options include an extensive wine list, top shelf liquor, and craft and draft beers.

Boaters have 300 feet of seawall to utilize, but locating the restaurant may be difficult on the first try.

Club Capri can be found on the water by heading through the North Channel and Sassy Marina cut, and through the gas lot.

Located at Algonac Harbour Club, Port O Call is a waterfront restaurant that offers multiple options in food, drinks, and seating.

While offering the casual dining room, the outside features a patio and tiki bar serving its bestsellers. Food options include the perch sandwich, salmon dinner and Reuben.

Port O Call also offers an extensive appetizer menu with calamari and Reuben rolls headlining the list.

Customers can enjoy a Kentucky mule or a Texas Bloody Mary with live entertainment every Friday and Saturday.

Enjoy the summer weather while taking a break from reality in the sun.

With both indoor and outdoor seating options, the tiki bar on the patio adjacent to Lake St. Clair is a fan favorite.

“We definitely promote a good time,” manager Matt Kukuku said.

Its sizable food list includes pork, chicken, brisket, pulled pork tacos, mahi-mahi tacos and ahi tuna. Customers can also enjoy fresh fruit drinks, prepared right in front of them.

Boaters have 25 docks to use along with 80 feet of seawall with ties for larger vessels.
