The Sterling Heights High wrestling team had its run of consecutive Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 district titles come to an end in a loss to Clinton Township Chippewa Valley.
The match took place Feb. 6 at Sterling Heights High.
The teams were knotted at 35 after all matches had concluded. The Big Reds won on a technicality, though, as Chippewa Valley scored one technical fall to none for the Stallions. Other tiebreaking scenarios did not come into play.
To advance to the final, Sterling Heights High got by Stevenson.
Chippewa Valley knocked off Utica Ford II on its way to the district final.
