Softball teams fall in district round

EASTPOINTE/ROSEVILLE — The East Detroit and Roseville High softball teams saw their seasons come to an end in the district round of the 2014 Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 state playoffs.

The Shamrocks fell 12-1 to Grosse Pointe South in a D-1 district semifinal played May 31 at Grosse Pointe South. East Detroit ends the season at 8-13. The Shamrocks saw their win total increase by five games from 2013.


The Panthers dropped a 7-0 decision to Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse in a D-1 district semi played May 30 at Roseville. The Panthers finish 2014 with a mark of 5-15. Roseville’s win total increased by three games from 2013.
