ST. CLAIR SHORES — Utica Eisenhower's hockey season came to a close after being defeated by U-D Jesuit 6-2 in a Division 1 quarterfinals contest March 6.
Although the Eagles were able to strike first, courtesy of a goal by Jeff Van Buhler, U-D went on to score three unanswered goals in the opening period, which proved to be enough to send the Cubs to the semifinals, where they will face Brighton, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. March 8 at Compuware Arena in Plymouth.
U-D went on to add two goals in the second period, and one in the third. Jake Wichlacz scored Eisenhower's final goal in the third period.
