WARREN/DETROIT — Warren Regina student-athlete and St. Clair Shores resident Teresa Diehl has earned an opportunity that sets her apart from most high school seniors in the country, as she has signed on to run cross country for Wayne State University, an NCAA Division II program.
Her accolades include earning four letters in both cross country and track, as well as earning All-State honors in her junior and senior years.
Diehl, who was a team captain this past season, was also selected as team MVP in both her junior and senior years, and finished second at the state regional meet her senior season.
“I’m very excited,” said Diehl, who has a GPA of 4.3 and was named co-valedictorian. “I think it should be a lot of fun. I do feel really blessed for this opportunity.”
Diehl said she intends to major in kinesiology.
