MADISON HEIGHTS — For the second consecutive season, the Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett’s girls soccer team has advanced to a Division 4 regional final with a 4-0 victory against Harbor Beach High in a semifinal contest June 7 at Madison Heights Bishop Foley.

After a scoreless first half, Eleanor Withers was able to find the net with 32:07 remaining in the contest to give Liggett a 1-0 lead.

Isabelle Brusilow and Alexis Wenger accounted for the Knights’ other goals, with Wenger contributing two.

After winning what he described as a “really tough district,” head coach David Dwaihy was pleased to see Liggett find a way to pass another postseason test.

"Looking back on this game, I think we can feel good about it, especially the way we played in the second half," he said. "Hopefully we can keep a good thing going and we can extend it a little further. It’ll be a very tough game Thursday night. Looking forward to see if we can step up again.”

Liggett advances to face Clarkston Everest Collegiate at 7 p.m. June 9 in a regional final at Bishop Foley.
