Ford II, Parkway Christian softball; Ford II girls soccer win district crowns

The Utica Ford II softball left no doubt regarding the best team in its MHSAA Division 1 district.

The Falcons outscored three opponents 33-3 to claim their second straight D-1 district title. Ford II bested Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 11-0 in a district championship game played May 31 at Sterling Heights Stevenson.

The Falcons (27-8 at press time) advanced to take on St. Clair Shores Lake Shore in a D-1 regional semifinal played after press time.

Ford II knocked off Sterling Heights Stevenson 6-2 in a district quarterfinal May 28 at Stevenson. The Titans end the season at 14-21.

The Sterling Heights Parkway Christian softball team won three games to claim a Division 4 district championship. The Eagles knocked off Warren Macomb Christian 15-0 in a D-4 district title game played May 30 at Royal Oak Shrine Catholic. Parkway Christian (10-12 at press time) advanced to take on Westland Huron Valley in a D-4 regional semifinal played after press time.

The Sterling Heights High softball team saw its season end in a 16-0 loss to Chippewa Valley May 31 at Stevenson. The Stallions end the season at 4-14.

Ford II girls soccer advances to regional final

The Utica Ford II girls soccer team downed Troy Athens 1-0 in a Division 1 regional semifinal played June 4 at Sterling Heights Stevenson. The match ended in a shootout.

The Falcons (15-4-1 at press time) took on Grosse Pointe South in a regional final played after press time.

Ford II won a D-1 district title with a 2-1 win over Utica High May 30 at Fraser High. To get to the district final, the Falcons bested Sterling Heights High 8-0 and Sterling Heights Stevenson 4-0. The Stallions and Titans end the season at 0-12-0 and 9-7-3, respectively.

The Sterling Heights Parkway Christian girls soccer team saw its season come to a close in a 9-0 loss to Clarkston Everest Collegiate in a D-4 district semifinal May 29 at Auburn Hills Oakland Christian. To advance to the district semis, the Eagles knocked off The Pontiac Academy for Excellence 7-0 in a district quarterfinal match May 27 at Parkway Christian.
