FARMINGTON HILLS — Farmington Hills Harrison football is moving on in the Division 2 playoffs.
The Hawks won their opening round in dominating fashion, beating North Farmington 49-7 Nov. 1 at home.
“Getting ready for the playoffs, a lot depends on the competition that you’ve played,” Harrison coach John Herrington said. “We’ve played a lot of tough competition.”
The Hawks scored on every possession of the first half to lead 42-7 at the break.
Running back Lorenzo Collins accounted for three rushing scores; running back Omaury Rodgers had two; and running back Jourdan Austin had one rushing score.
Quarterback Jevon Shaw also threw one score to Ventura Ingram, while connecting on all three of his passes on the night.
“Our line was good, and I think pretty much dominated up there,” Herrington added.
The Raiders were plagued by early turnovers with a fumble at Harrison’s 8-yard line on their first drive and then failed to cover the subsequent kick off.
“The mistakes we made, they capitalized on,” North Farmington coach Todd Schultz said. “It was just a momentum killer.”
The Raiders end the year 6-3 overall. Harrison goes to 9-1 and takes on Pinckney High (7-3) at home in the second round. The time and date is still to be determined.
