A local teen died after being struck by several cars on Telegraph Road Sept. 13.

According to an email from Deputy Chief Nick Loussia, of the Southfield Police Department, police were called at around 3:22 p.m. Sept. 13 to 23661 Telegraph Road on a report of a serious injury accident involving a pedestrian.

When officers arrived they found bystanders attempting CPR on the pedestrian, a 14-year-old girl from Detroit.

Soon after, medical personnel responded to the scene and attempted to administer aid, but the girl died at the scene.

Loussia said a preliminary investigation revealed that the girl had attempted to cross over Telegraph Road, south of the cross walk, and was struck by two vehicles that were traveling southbound on the road.

Both drivers remained on the scene and were interviewed by police, Loussia said. The girl’s father arrived on scene a short time later.

The crash is still under investigation, Loussia said.
