Pedestrian killed on Woodward

A woman was killed while crossing Woodward Avenue at Square Lake Road early in the morning Aug. 11, according to police.
Sgt. Kim Comerford, of the Traffic Investigations Unit of the Bloomfield Township Police Department, said the woman was crossing the road around 5:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11 when a 2014 Dodge Caravan traveling northbound on Woodward struck her in the roadway.
The car was driven by a 61-year-old Hazel Park woman, and at press time neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be factors in the incident.
The victim, who is between 30 and 40 years old, reportedly died at the scene.
The incident is is still under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Bloomfield Township dispatch at (248) 433-7755.
