A 19-year-old Detroit man has been arraigned April 13 in connection with the shooting of a house and vehicle in the 21000 block of Bon Heur the week before.
St. Clair Shores Police Detective Gordon Carrier said that they were able to identify the occupants of the red Monte Carlo seen driving away from the April 4 shooting. Police executed a search warrant on a house in Detroit April 13, where they were able to take the suspect into custody.
The man is suspected of firing shots at a home in the 21000 block of Bon Heur just after midnight April 4. A witness told police at the time that, as he was getting into his car nearby, he saw the driver of the Monte Carlo get out and shoot several times at a house with a small handgun. The man then got back in the car and drove away.
Police found bullet casings in the street and spoke with the residents of the home. Upon further investigation, they identified the suspect as 19-year-old Armani King Lamb, of Detroit, who is an acquaintance of the St. Clair Shores resident who lived on Bon Heur.
Carrier said Lamb does not have a violent record. When police were at the home he owns in Detroit, they found evidence of potential dog fighting, including instruments used in dog fighting, a dead pit bull and multiple pit bulls with injuries consistent with dog fights.
St. Clair Shores Police alerted Detroit Police and Detroit Animal Control and members of those departments arrived to investigate further into the situation.
No one else was taken into custody at that time, and Carrier said they do not believe that the alleged dog fighting was connected with the incident on Bon Heur.
Lamb was arraigned on charges of discharging a firearm in or at a building, a 10-year felony, and carrying a concealed weapon, a 5-year felony. Magistrate Mark Metry of the 40th District Court set bond at $7,500 or 10 percent.
Lamb requested a court-appointed attorney, but no attorney had been assigned as of press time April 13.
