Macomb Township man in critical condition after being hit by vehicle

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that took place Sept. 7 in Macomb Township and has left a man in critical condition.

At 9:30 p.m., sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of 21 Mile Road and Sanborn Drive, where a 2017 black GMC Sierra had struck a pedestrian. The vehicle, being driven by a 56-year-old Shelby Township man, was headed westbound on 21 Mile when it struck the man crossing the road.

The driver and his 54-year-old wife were uninjured and released at the scene. The 58-year-old Macomb Township man that was crossing the road was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition as of the morning of Sept. 8.
