Looking Back: Larry's Hardware
Posted March 5, 2014
Remember those old-time hardware stores where the emphasis was on customer service and where you could find that one unique piece of hardware or gadget you couldn’t find anywhere else? Larry’s Hardware was one of those. For many township residents, Larry’s was their favorite hardware store. In this photo from 1967, owner Larry Sutter adjusts the antique stove in his store. Sutter sold his old store at 22 Mile Road and opened a new, larger store on Van Dyke, near Norse Avenue, in March of 1967. The business closed in the early 1990s, and the building is now home to MOR Archery Targets.
