Looking Back: The fire of 1905
Posted January 22, 2014
In 1905, Fraser suffered a major fire which destroyed several commercial buildings and a few residential buildings. The aftermath is seen in this picture. In the right of the picture can be seen Steffens Hall, which survived the fire. Some of the buildings that were total losses included an agricultural machinery manufacturer, a bowling alley, a meat market, a slaughterhouse, a cigar shop and a tavern.
