Troy police tweeted just before 5 p.m. Feb. 20 that a barricaded gunman situation was resolved safely and the suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

Police were at the scene of a home on Brooklawn Drive, in the Big Beaver and Adams roads area, where a barricaded gunman fired shots on the morning of Feb. 20, Troy police reported on their Twitter feed.

“Shots were fired inside the home, there are no reported injuries and the parents of the 30-year-old gunman are not in the home,” police tweeted.

“The home is surrounded and negotiations are ongoing with the gunman,” police said on Twitter.

Troy police tweeted at around 11 a.m. that a robot had been deployed, and they had no further updates.

At about 2:30 p.m., police posted this tweet: “We are still in communication with the subject on Brooklawn Drive. We will continue to provide

updates as more information becomes available. These incidents can be a very long process and we are doing our best to keep everyone

updated. The nonemergency phone number for the Troy Police Department is (248) 524-3477."

Police had advised everyone to avoid the area.
