ROCHESTER HILLS — A new condominium project is planned for an area east of Livernois Road, north of Auburn Road.

The development will be accessed from Hazelton Street or Shortridge Street, and it will front Donaldson Road.

“They will be between 2,500 to 3,000 square feet (in size) with two-car garages,” developer Vaqar Siddiqui said about the condominium units. They are expected to range in price from $360,000 to $460,000.

The 12-unit Commons South development will include an on-site detention pond and a passive park. The developer plans to save over 35 percent of the existing trees on the 4-acre site.

The property is currently vacant.

A tree preservation easement will run along the entire eastern property line to preserve an existing buffer, and the developer met with neighbors regarding the screening for their homes and has also provided an extensive buffer on the north property line.

By a unanimous vote Jan. 22, the Rochester Hills City Council approved the final site plan for Commons South.

“I like that you are going to preserve more trees,” Councilwoman Susan Bowyer said.
