St. Clair Shores police are looking for help in finding a man seen on surveillance video breaking into the Citgo gas station at 32309 Jefferson Ave. the morning of Jan. 27.

Police have released images from surveillance video of the suspect, a white male wearing a dark colored Carhartt jacket with a hood and an oval logo over the left breast, tan pants, brown boots and a goatee. At 6:13 a.m. Jan. 27, the man allegedly threw a hammer through the door of the gas station, which was not open at the time, and took chewing tobacco and Newport cigarettes.

The man then allegedly left in a silver or gray Chrysler Town & Country from 2001-2005 with front end damage over the driver’s side front wheel well. The license plate of the vehicle was obscured with what appeared to be a plastic bag.

Anyone with any information about the suspect or the incident is asked to call Det. Ben Leitch of the St. Clair Shores Police Department at (586) 445-5305.
