WARREN — A proposed coffee cart that has caused tensions to brew between the mayor and City Council members has been unanimously denied again.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees made five commission and committee appointments at its meeting on Aug. 11.

NOVI — At the request of Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash, the Novi City Council approved two resolutions to authorize the conversion of the city’s existing county drain facilities, known as the Huron Rouge Sewage Disposal System, into a new intercounty drain district, the Rouge Valley Sanitary Inter-County Drain.

TROY — At its meeting Aug. 11, the Troy City Council unanimously approved a request to rezone an 8.22-acre site around Corporate Drive, changing it from an office district to a community business district and a multifamily district.

OAKLAND COUNTY — The ballots for mayoral and city council races have been set for the November election.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — After a month of observation, the Macomb Township Board of Trustees on Aug. 13 found Priority Waste’s performance improved enough to keep its waste hauler contact, at least for another month.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Jim Cubera, city engineer, started his career with the city of Farmington Hills in May 1977, and will conclude his tenure of more than 48 years Aug. 29.

BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham City Commission decided to not go forward with a $36,640,000 bond proposal for the Birmingham community and senior center at a meeting Aug. 11.

UTICA/STERLING HEIGHTS — State Rep. Ron Robinson, R-Utica, appeared before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity in late July to advocate in support of two grant proposals for public safety and infrastructure in Macomb County.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council is considering a program that would allow a California firm to purchase and rehab an apartment complex on the northeast end of the city.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Plans are now underway for West Bloomfield’s budget in 2026, and the township is requesting the public’s input.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — The St. Clair Shores City Council approved a rezoning, a special land use request and a site plan in a 7-0 vote on July 21 which were all presented by the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on Marter Road.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Despite one councilman’s objection, the Sterling Heights City Council voted to approve the purchase of more Flock Safety cameras.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — At their meeting on July 28, members of the Harrison Township Board of Trustees voted 7-0 to amend an ordinance regulating recreational vehicles.

NOVI — The city of Novi recently sold a parcel of land it owned on Venture Drive to Boll Filter Corp., which desired the land to expand its company.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Meeting for its last scheduled time in July 2025, the Clinton Township Board of Trustees took on an agenda with its usual mix of business and bluster July 28.

TROY — During its meeting July 28, the Troy City Council unanimously approved a contract extension with HAAS Alert so that the Troy Fire Department can continue to use the company’s advanced alert system.

CLAWSON — Richard Scott has been chosen as the new member of the Clawson City Council following a 3-1 vote on July 10.

NOVI — Novi residents will see an increase in their upcoming water bill, as the City Council approved a rate increase during its regular meeting July 28.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Community members are invited to a workshop where they can share their ideas for the future of the parks in Madison Heights.
