My husband Geoff and I are the owners of this beautiful 1916 Ford Model T. We reside here in St. Clair Shores, and you can see us driving all around town.

Driving this car is an experience. First of all, it’s not easy to drive, or start for that matter. It uses an original crank start. The accelerator is on the steering wheel and there are three pedals on the floor. It does take regular unleaded gasoline.

Going to the gas station is an experience in itself. You must take off the front seat to find the gas tank. You read right, we are sitting on the gas tank. Then you stick a dip stick in to see how much gas you need. There is no gas gauge. We usually have a small crowd around for this endeavor. It is a two person job!

The top speed is about 42 miles per hour if the wind is at your back and you’re going downhill. Regular speed about 35-38.

We take this car everywhere. We are usual participants in the Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village, and have won a few ribbons with it. We are usually in the St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade. We’ll be participating this year riding a “celebrity“ around town. We love nothing more than to show off our beautiful Lizzy.

If you see us, stop and talk to us. We’ll even give you a ride!
