WARREN — A Warren police officer involved in a high-speed crash that left two dead appeared in 37 District Court March 6.

WARREN — Officers responding to a domestic violence call on March 10 shot a 41-year-old Warren man, who died from his injuries at the hospital. According to a press release from the Warren Police Department, officers were dispatched at 9:58 p.m.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Clintondale high school senior Davon Ciesiolka has been named the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Basketball Courage Award male recipient for 2025.

WARREN — A Detroit police officer was arraigned in the 37th District Court March 4 after he allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a girl from Warren. According to Macomb County prosecutors, Earl Raynard Anderson Jr., 37, allegedly sent text messages to a 12-year-old girl Feb. 22.

NOVI — Peggy Bassett, who has taught English in the Novi Community School District since 1992, was named the Novi Community School District Educator of the Year while her students were attending a senior-themed presentation by Awkward Pause…, a Novi High School improvisational theater group, on Feb. 26.

NOVI — Broadway actress Erin Chupinsky now flies high in theaters around the world as an aerialist in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” currently being performed in Los Angeles. However, she took her first flight as Peter Pan on the stage of Novi High School more than 20 years ago.

SOUTHFIELD — Thanks to a $35,000 grant from the Byron and Dorothy Gerson Innovation Fund, individuals with disabilities can take a driving assessment through STISIM Drive, a driving simulator that helps determine an individual’s potential driving capabilities.

SOUTHFIELD — Born on April 18, 1922, Catherine Davis is a 102-year-old Southfield resident whose lifetime wish of going to Washington, D.C. to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture was granted for her birthday last April  by “Wish of a Lifetime” from AARP.
