ST. CLAIR SHORES — Mike Koch has a long history of volunteering with the Goodfellows and local school districts to help kids grow into outstanding citizens and young adults.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Voters in the Lakeview Public Schools district passed a replacement operating millage proposal by a margin of 66.1% (2,518 votes) to 33.9% (1,293 votes) on Nov. 7.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — On Oct. 16, the St. Clair Shores City Council voted 6-0 to approve a new parking lot at the Senior Activity Center.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — On Nov. 7, St. Clair Shores voters elected Ronald Frederick, Chris Vitale and Linda Bertges to serve on the City Council for the next four years.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Lakeview alumni from the graduating classes of 1969-1972 had a blast on their Best of Italy trip from Oct. 5 through Oct. 18.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — The Rev. James Bjorum made everyone feel welcome at the Our Lady of Hope Parish and he was a good listener, according to the staff at St. Germaine Catholic School.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Team Stahls’ and the Detroit Red Wings Alumni will go on the “Power Play for Heroes” Nov. 10 to help raise funds for a recipient in need of a service dog.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — A 7-year-old child was killed on Oct. 24 as the result of a single-vehicle incident at Blossom Heath Park, according to a release from the St. Clair Shores Police Department.  According to the release, St. Clair Shores police responded to the park at 3:20 p.m.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Residents and visitors alike can enjoy family fun and spooky skeletons at the Downtown St. Clair Shores Skelebration on Oct. 28.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — On Nov. 7, voters in the Lakeview Public Schools district will be asked to consider a replacement operating millage proposal in the amount of 21 mills, with 18 mills being the maximum levy, for the next 20 years.

It was rivalry weekend all around the state of Michigan, and the bragging rights for the city of St. Clair Shores were up for grabs on Oct. 13 at Lake Shore High School for the game against Lakeview.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — I’ve always believed in the paranormal. Living in a state like Michigan where the lakes are treacherous and ships go missing in the night, it’s hard not to. Ghost stories were passed around by volunteers at lighthouses, sprinkled in with the long history of the guiding lights.
