AUBURN HILLS —Orchard Lake St. Mary’s freshman Joshua Edmond knows there's still another goal to be had.

This season, he finished runner-up at the Division 2 individual wrestling finals March 4 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Lowell High's Austin Boone won the match 6-3 in the 135-pound class.

Despite finishing his freshman campaign with a record of 53-1, Edmond referred to his season as incomplete.

“I fought hard, he just came out on top,” Edmond said. “There’s nothing I can do about it.”

Although St. Mary’s coach Neil Fenzel referred to Edmond’s season as fantastic, he doesn’t think a second-place finish will suffice for his freshman wrestler.

“He fell short of his goal,” Fenzel said. “His goal was the championship. He’s got three more championships that he wants to win.”
