ST. CLAIR SHORES — When the state volleyball playoffs begin Nov. 4, one local team will look to continue its run of postseason success, while two others will try to end postseason droughts.

Following is a breakdown of the Division 1 district tournament that includes St. Clair Shores Lake Shore and St. Clair Shores Lakeview, and the D-2 tournament that St. Clair Shores South Lake will play in.

The Huskies are after their first district title; Lake Shore last won a postseason tournament in 2004; and the Cavaliers have won three straight district titles, including a regional title in 2016.

Lakeview, Lake Shore could meet in district final

Lakeview (12-11-2 at press time) and Lake Shore (7-15-2) will play in a district hosted by Grosse Pointe North.

The Huskies and the Shorians are on opposite sides of the bracket. Lakeview opens against Detroit East English Village Prep in a district quarterfinal set for 5 p.m. Nov. 4. The winner gets Grosse Pointe North in a semifinal at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

On the other side of the bracket, Lake Shore, which received a bye through the quarters, meets either Grosse Pointe South or Eastpointe High in a semifinal at 5 p.m. Nov. 6. The district final begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 7.

The survivor of the Grosse Pointe North district advances to a regional to be hosted by Lake Shore Oct. 12-14.

South Lake in less-packed D-2 bracket
