Rocket Mortgage Classic set to begin

DETROIT — The Rocket Mortgage Classic is right around the corner.

Festivities have already gotten underway, but tournament play will begin June 27 and run through June 30 at the Detroit Golf Club. Following is a list of information regarding the tournament.

 

Top players hitting the course
Fans attending the tournament can expect to see some big names on the course, including Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Xander Schauffele and Gary Woodland, among others.

Woodland recently won the U.S. Open; Fowler is a five-time PGA Tour winner and top 20 player; Johnson is the world’s No. 2 player and the 2016 U.S. Open champion; Reed won the 2018 Masters; Schauffele finished third at this year’s U.S. Open and is a top 10 player; and Watson is a two-time Masters champion.

The tournament will also feature Chez Reavie, Viktor Hovland and Chesson Hadley, who all finished in the top 12 at the 2019 U.S. Open.

 

Tickets still on sale
Tickets are still available to catch the action at the Detroit Golf Club. However, grounds tickets for Saturday, June 29, have been sold out. It’s $15 for a grounds ticket on Wednesday, $45 for Thursday, $50 for Friday and $55 for Sunday.

Know where to park
Some parking for the tournament has changed, as VIPs, sponsors and partners with passes marked “Palmer Park A” or “Palmer Park B” will now park in a private lot at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. Those people should enter off Woodward Avenue, between Eight Mile Road and State Fair Avenue.

General parking will still be available at the Michigan State Fairgrounds, but those fans should enter off West Stair Fair Avenue, between Woodward and John R. Shuttles will be provided to the Detroit Golf Club.

Handicapped parking will be available at the University of Detroit Mercy. Fans must have a handicapped placard and ID that matches to park in this lot. Accessible shuttles will be provided to and from the Detroit Golf Club.
