Fresh off the program’s first district championship, Berkley High welcomes in Livonia Franklin in a Division 2 regional.

Last week, Berkley beat Southfield High 28-20 with a defense that forced five turnovers and an offensive attack that controlled the tempo of the game.

The Bears look to do that once again, this time against the Patriots, which beat Jackson High 63-35 for their district title.

After starting the season 2-3, Franklin is on a seven-game winning streak and in that time has scored at least 30 points each game.

Berkley has won four straight and has pitched two shutouts in the span.

The only meeting between these programs took place in 1963 when the Bears won 19-0.
