Thaier Mukhtar will host his 17th annual Eastside Soccer Camp throughout July at Fraser High School.

The camp’s first session runs from July 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for boys and girls entering grades 5-8 this fall. The second session is July 16-20, 9 a.m. to noon for boys and girls entering grades 1-4. The third session is also July 16-20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for girls entering grades 9-12. The fourth session is July 23-27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for boys entering grades 9-12.

“This camp provides boys and girls from youth club soccer teams to high school athletes the opportunity to more perfect their skills for the upcoming fall session,” Mukhtar said. “Campers will be given the opportunity to take part in a week of fun instruction led by quality instructors who understand the needs of young soccer players.

“Through demonstration and age specific instruction, campers will be taught the technical and tactical skills needed for an aspiring young soccer player.”

Mukhtar, a veteran coach who has earned numerous awards coaching the boys at Warren De La Salle and girls at Fraser High, has won five state championships and coached athletes who have gone on play at the professional and national level.

The coach, alongside other instructors including top local coaches and players with collegiate experience, will emphasize instilling a “strong work ethic” and “teaching the game the right way and ensuring every player has fun.”
