According to Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Renee Yax, deputies were dispatched at 12:32 a.m. Aug. 21 to the area of Executive Drive and Joy Boulevard in Harrison Township after a motorist in the area observed a downed motorcycle and two people nearby.

Officials stated that it was a single-vehicle crash.

The operator, 36-year-old Christopher Moffett, of Clinton Township, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of the crash at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 23. Officials reported that the female passenger, identified as 24-year-old Caitlyn Gohr, of Warren, also died in the crash. Neither was wearing a helmet, authorities reported.
