CLINTON TOWNSHIP — A woman has died from injuries allegedly sustained at the hands of her own daughter.

On Sept. 3, Clinton Township Police Capt. Richard Maierle confirmed that the mother of Ann Marie Walsh died Aug. 31 at a local hospital after being taken off life support.

Walsh, who was charged with vulnerable adult abuse in relation to her mother’s injuries, recently had her bond increased by 41-B District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo Jr., from $100,000 to $250,000. She last appeared in court Aug. 28.

The woman’s death occurred less than a month after officers filed a police report stating that the victim was at a local hospital being treated for multiple injuries. Police reportedly found dents and blood splatters on walls throughout the pair’s shared apartment, as well as blood on bedding.

Now it will be up to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office to adjust charges in relation to this matter. At press time, Walsh’s next court date was scheduled for Sept. 16.
