WARREN — Five windows were smashed at the Al Ihsaan Islamic Center on 10 Mile Road during the afternoon on July 12. It reportedly happened at about 2:30 p.m.

The damage was allegedly done by a man carrying a hammer and wearing a yellow safety vest. He reportedly pulled up in a Dodge Charger.

Police know some of this because a neighbor reportedly captured a short video of the suspect leaving.

“It looks like, to us, that the head of the hammer broke off. It ended up inside of the building,” Warren Police Lt. John Barnes said. “He got back in his Charger and left.”

Barnes said good police work on the part of the department’s patrol officers had generated solid leads but that the damage complaint remained under investigation on July 21.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect involved can reach Warren detectives at (586) 574-4810.
