SOUTHFIELD — Police are looking for two men in connection with a string of similar breaking and entering incidents.

Police were dispatched to a cellphone store in the 24000 block of Southfield Road around 1:46 a.m. Nov. 25 on a report of a breaking and entering.

According to police reports, a witness said she heard glass breaking and observed people running into the cellphone store.

Police said the suspects used a large brick to break out a window on the south side of the business.

The witness told police that she then saw the suspects leave the scene heading southbound on Southfield Road in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows.

Numerous cell phones were stolen in the incident, police said.

Around 2:02 a.m. the same day, police were dispatched to another cellphone store — this one in the 24000 block of 12 Mile Road — on a report of a breaking and entering.

Police arrived to find the front door window shattered and a large rock on the cement in front of the store.

Police said a witness from a nearby gas station told them that she saw two men throw a large rock at the window of the store before they ran across 12 Mile Road toward another cellphone store.

The woman told police that she saw the men jump into a newer-model Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows.

Police made their way to the other cellphone store, also in the 24000 block of 12 Mile Road, where they discovered another large rock they believe was used to break out a window, but no entry was made.

After alerting other agencies to be on the lookout for the suspects and their vehicle, Southfield officers were contacted by the Northville Township Police Department.

Officers from Northville said they saw a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle potentially involved with the breaking and entering in Southfield at a cellphone store in their jurisdiction.

A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle, also a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the vehicle fled. Police said the Jeep had no license plate attached.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s. He is around 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, a beanie, light-colored jeans and light-colored shoes during the incident, police said.

The second suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s. He is around 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie during the incident, according to police.

Anyone with information on the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to call the Southfield Police Detective Bureau at (248) 796-5540.
