BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra will trade shamrocks for champagne this St. Patrick’s Day during its annual spring benefit.

The second-ever event will be held at downtown Birmingham’s BoConcept, where guests can enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and live music from the Irish band Jean Marie & the Lads.

ROCHESTER — Spending your money in downtown Rochester this month will not only help support local merchants, it could also earn you a $1,000 shopping spree.

The Rochester Downtown Development Authority is hosting its third annual Mad Money March event, which DDA Events Coordinator Stephanie Hellebuyck said gives the community an incentive to spend dollars in downtown Rochester during a month that can otherwise be a bit dreary.
