Police make arrest for retail fraud at Holiday Market

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 5 p.m. May 13, Royal Oak police responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Holiday Market, 1203 S. Main St., north of 10 Mile Road.

The suspect allegedly attempted to steal $260 worth of groceries, and officers arrested the suspect for retail fraud, according to the police report.

 

Homeowner witnesses package theft

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 8:50 p.m. May 11, a complainant reported hearing a noise outside the front door of her residence in the 1200 block of East 11 Mile Road, west of South Campbell Road.

The complainant told police she discovered an unknown female subject had just stolen a package from her front porch, and the suspect fled in a blue Ford Focus, according to the police report. 

 

Hollywood Market cashier reports shopper who stole her purse

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 7:45 p.m. May 11, a cashier reported that an unknown male customer took her purse from underneath her cash register, placed it in his shopping cart and left Hollywood Market, 714 N. Main St., south of Gardenia Avenue. 

 

Package stolen from apartment common area

ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 7 p.m. May 10 and 11 a.m. May 11, an unknown person had stolen a package from the common area of her apartment building, located in the 2900 block of West 13 Mile Road, east of Coolidge Highway.

 

Windows shattered, bottles broken at vacant business

ROYAL OAK — Sometime between noon May 7 and 11:40 a.m. May 11, the owner reported that an unknown suspect threw several bricks through a window to enter the vacant business that was formerly Danny’s Market, 3115 W. 13 Mile Road, east of Coolidge Highway.

The owner observed that several bottles and other merchandise had been broken inside the building, but nothing appeared to be taken, according to the police report.

 

Suspect steals $700 worth of cologne from CVS

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 7 p.m. May 9, Royal Oak police responded to a report of an unknown suspect who had forced entry into a secured display case and stolen more than $700 worth of men’s cologne at CVS, 209 12 Mile Road, east of South Rochester Road.

CVS staff confronted the suspect as he was leaving the store, and he fled in a black Nissan Sentra, according to the police report. 

 

Window damaged at Manus Power Mowers

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 1:15 a.m. May 8, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect threw a piece of concrete through a window at Manus Power Mowers, 30642 Woodward Ave., south of 13 Mile Road.

 

Utility trailer stolen while parked behind G&S Market

ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 3 and 10:40 p.m. May 7, an unknown thief stole his 12-foot utility trailer while it was parked behind G&S Market, 25852 Woodward Ave., north of 10 Mile Road.

 

Clothing and work ID stolen from unlocked car

ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between noon May 5 and 7 p.m. May 7, an unknown person stole miscellaneous clothing and her work identification from her unlocked car, which had been parked in the 600 block of Millard Avenue, near South Rochester and 13 Mile roads.
