MACOMB TOWNSHIP — At the Oct. 9 Board of Trustees meeting, it was decided to hire a property appraiser in the assessing department.

Seven applications were received for the position. Five individuals were interviewed Sept. 30.

The board approved to hire Arlene Badgley. Macomb Township Assessor Dan Hickey said her start date is to be determined.

Badgley’s application states she has over 20 years appraising and assessing real property experience.

Prior to accepting the Macomb Township job, Badgley worked for Springfield Township since 2000 as an advanced assessing officer and personal property examiner.

Before her appointment, the Macomb Township property appraiser position was vacant for a couple weeks.

Kim Patterson was formerly in that role and retired.

Hickey said property appraisers are responsible for measuring all construction and permits, as well as handling tribunal appeals.
