SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is looking for a suspect who robbed the Huntington Bank at 15075 24 Mile Road in Shelby Township at approximately 10:20 a.m. March 8.

The suspect entered the bank and produced a note to the teller that made a demand for cash. When the robber received the cash, he fled on foot, police said.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No gun was produced during the robbery.

A K-9 tracked a trail west along 24 Mile Road, where police believe the suspect got into a vehicle.

According to police, it may have been a white Sprinter van.

Shelby Township police believe that the suspect is the same suspect who robbed a bank a day earlier in Chesterfield Township.

According to the Chesterfield Township Police Department, at 3:30 p.m. March 7, a suspect with similar clothing and appearance robbed the Chase Bank near 23 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

The suspect fled south on foot, and a K-9 followed a trail to a location where police believe that an unknown type of getaway vehicle had been parked.

The suspect, according to Shelby Township police, is described as a white man who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs more than 300 pounds. He was wearing glasses, a blue windbreaker, blue jeans and a dark-colored knit hat. He had no facial hair.
