SOUTHFIELD — Police are investigating a Christmas Eve fight at a local salon.

Around 10:50 a.m. Dec. 24, officers were dispatched to a salon on Southfield Road on a report of an assault.

A woman told police that, while in the hallway that separates the individual businesses within the building, she saw another woman she was acquainted with and said hello to her.

The victim told police that, as the other woman walked past, the suspect said, “What’s up, sis,” and attacked the victim.

According to the report, the woman doesn’t know why the suspect attacked her, but the victim fought back against the suspect.

During the fight, police said, the suspect struck the victim on her right wrist with a pair of scissors, bit her in the right arm and punched her in the head. Police said other women from the businesses got involved, but they fled before police arrived.

A short time later, police completed their investigation and cleared the scene, but they were called to the same address again on a report of the suspects returning and assaulting people in retaliation.

Police said a second victim told police she was knocked to the floor during the alleged assault and was “stomped” on the head by a woman wearing pink boots.

The woman declined medical assistance, police said.

An evidence technician took photos of the victim’s injuries and collected a doorbell camera that had been broken off and discarded.

The incident is under further investigation, police said.
