MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Friends of Macomb Township, or FofMT, are once again holding a dinner to benefit a local school.

The third annual FofMT pasta dinner will be held Feb. 8 at the St. Isidore Church social hall, located at 18201 23 Mile Road in Macomb Township.

Tickets are available online at macombtownshipfoundation.com, or can be purchased at the door.

Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Glen H. Peters School in Macomb Township. Last year, $4,500 was raised from the dinner, which was attended by over 400 people.

The dinner costs $10 per person for an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner, and $5 for children 12 and younger.

“Hopefully, we can do a little better than last year,” FofMT President Kerry Jantz said. “It’s their community too, and we’re looking to make a difference in the community.”

The night includes prizes, food, family and fun. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. The menu features pasta, salad, bread, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages.

Pasta will be catered by Aspen Restaurant in Macomb Township.

About 20 items will be auctioned off, which is where a majority of the proceeds come from.

FofMT Treasurer Mike Fontana said Glen Peters is a good partner for the dinner.

“We knew about Glen Peters and we know they have a lot of demands on them, and finances is one of them,” Fontana said. “The money benefits those kids with special needs.”

Glen H. Peters School is one of two programs in the Macomb Intermediate School District serving students with moderate cognitive impairments, severe cognitive impairments and severe multiple impairments, from ages 3-26.

FofMT is a charitable organization established in 2002 whose purpose is to provide financial support to endeavors that enrich the lives of children, youth and families within Macomb Township.
