Man wanted for robbery, shooting at party store

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a recent armed robbery and shooting. 

According to a news release from Deputy Chief Nick Loussia, of the Southfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Oakland Party Store, 19606 W. 10 Mile Road. 

Loussia said in the release that a man entered the store and demanded that an employee put money inside a bag or he would shoot. 

“The employee dove behind the counter, at which point the suspect began to flee the store,” Loussia said in the release. 

While fleeing, the suspect fired one shot at the clerk, Loussia said, and once outside, he fired a second shot toward the front of the store. 

The clerk was not injured, police said. 

The suspect is described as a black man, possibly 20 to 30 years old. During the shooting, he was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. Police said the man has a tattoo on his right hand. 

Loussia said in the release that Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for credible information that leads to the apprehension of the suspect.
