ROYAL OAK — At approximately 11:33 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, Royal Oak police received a 911 call about a man who fell from the parking structure located at 212 S. Center St. in the city’s downtown.

Officers who responded to the scene discovered a gravely injured 23-year-old man. Just after arriving, officers learned that Ferndale police were seeking help to locate a suicidal subject matching the man’s description, according to the police report.

According to police, the preliminary investigation determined that the man jumped from the top floor of the parking structure after becoming despondent over a relationship.

Paramedics rushed the man to Beaumont Hospital, but he died from his injuries.
