St. Clair Shores police have a local man in custody in connection with an alleged indecent exposure incident Oct. 8.

A resident in the area of Ursuline and Yale streets reported seeing a man walking south with his penis exposed around 2 p.m. Oct. 8. That resident told police that the man got into a red Chevrolet HHR near the intersection of Princeton and Yale streets and drove away toward Little Mack Avenue.

The witness was able to provide police with images of the man allegedly involved in the incident. With those photos and dozens of tips from residents who saw the photo online and in local media, St. Clair Shores police were able to identify 45-year-old Kevin Williamson, of St. Clair Shores, as the man allegedly involved.

Williamson was arraigned on charges of misdemeanor indecent exposure in front of 40th District Court Judge Joseph Oster, which carries a penalty of one year incarceration and/or a $1,000 fine. He was given a $500 personal bond and told the court he would retain his own attorney, although none was present at the time of the arraignment Oct. 10.

St. Clair Shores Police Detective Paul Dlugokenski said that nearby schools were notified the day of the incident, but no schools went into lockdown.

Dlugokenski said that parents recognized the man from schools his children previously attended, as did neighbors. He does not have any prior convictions.
