From the July 22, 1967, edition of the Utica/Daily Sentinel newspaper: “Shelby-Utica Little Leaguer Jim Stone is ready to start play on the new Ford Field dedicated Friday. The field was presented to the league before the opening game of National Little League District Six Tournament. Standing behind Jim are Dick Dieters, President of the S-U league; Vince LaCommare, President of the 10-year old League; Kirby Holmes, Shelby Supervisor; Jack Glaser, Industrial Relations Manager at Ford-Utica; Jerry Jerzykowski, Vice President of the league; Jim Williamson, National League Commissioner; and Fred Nienstedt, President of the Babe Ruth League.”  (Staff photo by Wes Stafford)
