Public safety officers are looking for two robbers who overpowered an employee at Parkcrest Inn during the early morning hours March 10 to take money from the cash register.

The robbers walked into the inn at 20000 Harper, forced their way behind the counter and struggled with a woman who was working there.

The robbers overpowered the woman and pointed a handgun at her. They demanded money from the register, which the employee gave them.

The robbers ran toward the parking lot.

“During the struggle, the attendant was struck in the forehead with an unknown object,” Public Safety Director James Burke stated in a Nixle.com report. “She was transported to the hospital for treatment for her injuries.”

One of the robbers was described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old who stood about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weighed 230-250 pounds. He was wearing a hooded, light-colored sweatshirt, dark jeans and white shoes.

The second robber was described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old who weighed between 140-170 pounds. He had short hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing dark clothing that included a sweatshirt and track pants. He wore light-colored shoes at the time of the incident.

Harper Woods police investigated and do not believe that the robbery was connected to a fatal shooting that occurred during roughly the same time period a few miles away at Beaconsfield and Britain in Detroit.
