HARPER WOODS — The Harper Woods Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that took place just after midnight on Halloween.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. Oct. 31. According to investigators, an 18-year-old man was walking from work to his residence in the 19800 block of Beaconsfield Street. They said that as the 18-year-old approached the home, a 2001-2005 tan Buick Lacrosse pulled up and two suspects exited the vehicle. They fired three shots at the 18-year-old before they fled the scene in the car, which was being driven by a third suspect.

According to the police, the 18-year-old took cover in the backyard of the home and suffered a wound to one of his fingers. He was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition before being released. No other injuries or damage was reported.

Harper Woods police are investigating the matter. They ask anyone with information to contact them at (313) 343-2530.
