Grosse Pointe North closed due to bomb threat

The Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety announced the morning closure of Grosse Pointe North High School April 30 after an anonymous bomb threat was made the day before.

North administration contacted the Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety about the threat.

“An anonymous threat identifies a bomb being set off on Thursday, April 30th, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.,” the Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety stated in a news release. “Our department is working with the school administration and the Michigan State Police to physically search the school. A bomb dog will be deployed on the school grounds and inside the building to ensure that the school is safe for the staff and students.”

The school was slated to be closed until noon, and classes would start with fifth hour at 12:24 p.m. Afternoon activities were to continue as planned.
