GROSSE POINTE FARMS — Police reportedly were at a home in the 300 block of Moran Road for several hours on Friday.

Police reports indicate that officers were called to the area around 3:33 p.m. Aug. 3 about a young woman who was reportedly walking down the street removing items of clothing. Police said the woman — a 21-year-old from Harrison Township — alleged that she had been assaulted by a resident in the 300 block of Moran.

The woman told police that she and a female friend had been at the house to perform a “sex show,” according to a police report. Police said that after the resident paid the women, the Harrison Township woman said she felt uncomfortable and tried to leave. That’s when, she said, the resident “grabbed at her arm, chest, buttocks and groin area,” a police report states.

The woman told police that she fled the scene. Police said the woman had cuts on her collarbone and both arms. They said she also told them that the man had “large amounts of prescription drugs and cocaine … individually packaged at various locations throughout the residence.”

Police said the woman was “speaking rapidly and incoherently” and had her dress on inside out. They said she told them that she had snorted an Adderall pill.

Detective Lt. Rich Rosati said the woman had actually been getting dressed as she walked down the street. He said she told him she and her friend had been hired by the man to perform a sex act on him. She and her friend left before doing the show or the sex act, she reportedly told police.

Taking the woman back to the area where she had dropped some of her belongings, police said, the woman collected some bank cards and tossed them on the ground. An officer picked up the cards and saw that they belonged to the Moran resident. Police said they initially arrested the woman for larceny, but released her when the Moran resident said he wouldn’t press charges.

While police were canvassing the area in search of the disrobing woman, they said a 58-year-old Detroit man on a bike approached them. He told police that he was a friend of the Moran Road man, and he told police that the Moran Road man had called him because he was having trouble getting a woman to leave his house.

Police said they observed a bulge in the Detroit man’s waistband, which looked like it might be a gun, so they patted him down. The bulge turned out to be the end of the man’s belt, but police noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Detroit man, who admitted that he had “about $10 worth” of marijuana on him, according to the report.

Police arrested the Detroit man and searched him. Police said they found a small marijuana roach as well as a white, powdery substance that turned out to be cocaine. The Detroit man was arrested and is facing charges for possession of cocaine and marijuana, police said.

The Moran resident was arrested for violation of the controlled substance act, but not for assault, because Rosati said the Harrison Township woman declined to press charges against him. Both the Farms man and the Detroit man have been released from jail.

“It’s one of the weirdest cases I’ve ever had to work,” Rosati said. “Trying to sort out who was a victim and who was a suspect in this case was very difficult, because everyone had done something wrong.”
