Thief steals from hospital patient

GROSSE POINTE CITY — While she was a patient at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, from April 18 to April 24, a woman reported to police that someone stole her identification and $150 from her personal property. The larceny remained under investigation at press time. Anyone with more information can call (313) 886-3200.

 

Valuables stolen from garage

GROSSE POINTE PARK — Sometime between the hours of 3 p.m. May 7 and 4 p.m. May 8, police said, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked, detached garage in the 1100 block of Lakepointe Street and stole a Philips Bluetooth speaker valued at $150 and a Ryobi tool set said to be worth $400. Suspect scared off

GROSSE POINTE PARK — A neighbor appears to have prevented a possible larceny or vehicle theft. Police said the neighbor yelled at an unknown male suspect when the neighbor spotted the suspect entering an unlocked 2010 Suburu while the vehicle was parked in the 800 block of Barrington Road around 11:40 p.m. May 10. Police said the suspect fled the area when confronted by the neighbor, and nothing appeared to have been taken out of the Suburu. Anyone with more information can call (313) 822-7400.

 

Police nab porch pirate

GROSSE POINTE PARK — A 61-year-old Detroit man was arrested after police said they saw him tear open two boxes that he had just reportedly stolen from the front porch of a home in the 1300 block of Wayburn Street at 2:30 a.m. May 9. Police said they arrested the suspect, who is facing possible larceny charges, as he was leaving the area on foot.

 

Vehicle vandalized

GROSSE POINTE CITY — Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 7, an unknown suspect is said by police to have keyed a vehicle while it was parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Lincoln Road. Anyone with more information can call (313) 886-3200.

 

Bike stolen

GROSSE POINTE PARK — A men’s blue and gray Diamondback bike was stolen by an unknown suspect from an unlocked, detached garage in the 1000 block of Wayburn Street between the hours of noon and 5:30 p.m. May 4, police said. Anyone with more information can call (313) 822-7400.

 

Resident is victim of email scam

GROSSE POINTE PARK — Police said a resident was the victim of an unknown scammer who duped the resident into giving the suspect his personal information through an email that appeared to have been sent by Amazon. The resident filed a report with police May 6.
