Royal Oak
Royal Oak Pride will host a street festival featuring live music on two stages, drag events, artists, and Pride partners and vendors Aug. 12-13 on South Washington Avenue. The entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday ($5 cover after 5 p.m. the second day). For the full lineup, visit https://royaloakpride.com.
Hazel Park
After declaring June 2022 as Pride Month, the city of Hazel Park will continue to celebrate the LGBTQ community with its 2nd annual Pride event from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 14 at Green Acres Park, 620 W. Woodward Heights Blvd. There will be three pavilions: one will host vendors, a second will serve as a stage for entertainment — more than 50 performances in all — and a third will serve adult beverages. Other attractions at the free, family-reunion-style event will include face painting, drag queen storytime, crafts, games and activities, traditional barbecue fare, candy, snacks and beverages. 2. Shelby Township Art Fair
Aug. 13-14 • River Bends Park
The 39th annual Shelby Township Art Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 13 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at River Bends Park, 5700 22 Mile Road. The free event will showcase works from more than 100 national, regional and local artists and artisans, along with products from Michigan-based businesses, live music, crafts and activities for kids, critters from the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, and a chance to visit with Shelby Township police officers and firefighters. 3. CMPL Comic Con
Aug. 13 • Clinton-Macomb Public Library (Main Branch)
Celebrate all things pop culture during the CMPL Comic Con from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, 40900 Romeo Plank Road in Clinton Township. Partake in a multitude of panels and workshops, check out art and other wares from local creators, make a craft, visit the role playing game room, compete in a scavenger hunt, play tabletop and arcade games, come dressed as a character, and more. 4. Car shows and cruises

Clawson
The Clawson Lions Club will hold its 24th Down on Main Street car show Aug. 13. A half mile of road will close south of 14 Mile Road at 8 a.m. More than 400 entries are expected, with an award presentation at 4 p.m. The event is free, but sales from T-shirts, posters and popcorn will go to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Eversight Michigan, Beaumont Silent Children and the Penrickton Center for Blind Children, among other charities. Pontiac
MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge will be held from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Aug. 13 at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac. Rochester
The Rochester Lions Club's 22nd Rockin Rods n’ Rochester car show will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14 at Walnut Boulevard and Third Street. Enjoy music, food, drinks, raffles, door prizes and collectibles, plus see who wins awards for cars, trucks and motorcycles. Utica
Utica's Gasoline Alley — a car show, swap meet and gas show — will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 13 across from Memorial Park, which is next to the Utica Public Library, 7530 Auburn Road. Warren
The Old Village Cruise In will host cars and onlookers from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12 at First United Methodist Church, 5005 Chicago Road in Warren. 5. Kimme Horn Jazz Festival

The city of Southfield will host its 6th annual Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 3 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 13 on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road. The free event will feature live music, food trucks, boutique vendors, a beer and wine tent, a 5K walk, bike cruise, and more. The village of Bingham Farms will host its second Family Fest from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Jamestowne South lot, 24255 13 Mile Road. The free event will feature live performances, a petting zoo, classic cars, a martial arts demonstration, a food truck and shaved ice, a rock climbing wall, local art vendors, and police vehicles and fire trucks.
