Two men, including a 21-year-old from Rochester Hills and an 18-year-old from Sterling Heights, were injured in a shooting  in Pontiac early Jan. 3.

Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a report of two gunshot wound victims at about 1:14 a.m. in the area of Jacokes and Lafayette streets.

Deputies located the two victims, who were taken to a hospital and were listed in stable condition at press time.

While they were being given medical aid, one of the victims told deputies they had parked in the area of Warren Avenue and Wayne Street while they contacted a friend about the location of a party they planned to attend. The victim said he heard gunshots and saw a vehicle with doors open and two people near it before fleeing the area in his vehicle.

Deputies said one victim, the driver, sustained gunshot wounds in the thigh and forearm, while the passenger sustained injuries to his torso and neck from glass and shrapnel.

After canvassing the area and locating the suspect vehicle involved, four teens from Pontiac — two 17-year-olds, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old — were taken into custody just a few hours after the shooting during a traffic stop.

Deputies located multiple 9 mm shell casings in the area as well as surveillance video that captured the incident.

The suspects were lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of charges.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
